“Mr. VEASEY. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize La Gran Plaza de Fort Worth and the tremendous contributions of its small businesses in Fort Worth, Texas, as we celebrate National Small Business Week. La Gran Plaza stands as a vibrant economic and cultural hub for North Texas, home to a diverse array of family-owned businesses that embody the entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and cultural pride of our community. Among them, El Minero Restaurant, managed by Jorge Ortiz, reflects the power of multigenerational entrepreneurship. With the support of his family, the business has expanded its operations, including a remodeled kitchen and additional establishments within the Plaza--La Oruga and Marisqueria La Perla--demonstrating a strong commitment to quality and community. In addition, Texical Artesanias, owned by Maria and her husband, preserves and promotes cultural heritage through handcrafted goods sourced from regions such as Michoacan, Jalisco, and Guanajuato, continuing traditions that span generations. Furthermore, business owner Teresa Gutierrez exemplifies entrepreneurial vision through her four storefronts--Ilusiones Liz, Alex Bridal, Keygen, and Little Angels Boutique--which serve women and families across life's milestones while also fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs through her daughters' involvement. Similarly, Jobes Sanchez, founder of Jobes Hats, represents innovation and brand growth. From modest beginnings, his custom cowboy hat business has expanded beyond state lines and into Mexico, with recent ventures further diversifying his business. These businesses are the backbone of our economy. They preserve cultural traditions and strengthen the fabric of our communities. As we recognize National Small Business Week, I am proud to honor La Gran Plaza and the hardworking individuals who make it a cornerstone of Fort Worth's economic vitality. I ask my colleagues to join me in celebrating these outstanding small businesses and their invaluable contributions. ____________________”

“Mr. VEASEY. Mr. Speaker, I rise to honor Colette D. Haigler. On June 27, 2026, family and friends will gather to celebrate Colette D. Haigler's 55th birthday and her 10th anniversary as a breast cancer survivor at the Annual Pink Party--an occasion that honors both her life and her resilience. Colette was born on June 24, 1971, in Dallas, Texas, and was educated in the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from the High School for Health Professions. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman's University, establishing a strong foundation for a distinguished career in healthcare. A dedicated and compassionate professional, Colette serves as a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner with Texas Oncology, where she has made meaningful contributions to patient care. She is a long-time resident of Dallas, particularly the Oak Cliff community, and now resides in Bowie, Maryland. Colette is devoted to her family as the wife of John C. Haigler and the proud mother of twins, Ava and Austin. She has also remained deeply engaged in her community and faith. The Haigler family were long-time members of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church and are currently active members of First Baptist Church of Glenarden. Her commitment to service extends beyond her profession. Colette is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Prince George's County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, where she contributes to youth development and community leadership. In her personal time, Colette enjoys traveling, line dancing, and exploring new culinary experiences. Her life reflects a profound dedication to service, family, and perseverance, making this milestone celebration a fitting tribute to her enduring impact. ____________________”

“Mr. VEASEY. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the ribbon cutting of the Trinidad ``Trini'' Garza Early College High School at Dallas College's Mountain View Campus. This milestone represents an important investment in the future of our students and our community. Early College High Schools provide a powerful pathway for young people to earn both a high school diploma and college credit simultaneously, helping them graduate with the skills, experience, and confidence is needed to succeed in higher education and in the workforce. Programs like this open doors of opportunity for students across Dallas by reducing barriers to college access and creating new pathways to economic mobility. The Trinidad ``Trini'' Garza Early College High School is named in honor of former Dallas City Councilmember Trinidad ``Trini'' Garza, a dedicated public servant and longtime advocate for education and opportunity in the Oak Cliff community. His leadership and commitment to uplifting young people and strengthening neighborhoods left a lasting legacy in Dallas. It is fitting that a school designed to expand educational opportunities bears his name and continues his vision of empowering future generations. The partnership between Dallas College and the Dallas Independent School District demonstrates what can be achieved when educational institutions collaborate to support students and families. By expanding access to early college opportunities, this initiative will help students build strong academic foundations while preparing them for careers in the rapidly evolving economy of North Texas. Mr. Speaker, I commend the educators, administrators, community leaders, and partners who made this project possible and who continue to invest in the success of our students. Their dedication ensures that young people in Dallas have access to the tools and opportunities they need to thrive. I ask my colleagues to join me in celebrating the ribbon cutting of the Trinidad ``Trini'' Garza Early College High School at Dallas College's Mountain View Campus and in recognizing the positive impact this institution will have on students and families for generations to come. ____________________”
