“Mrs. CHERFILUS-McCORMICK. Mr. Speaker, today I rise to honor the remarkable achievements and inspiring contributions of women at the Women Arise Conference, which took place on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Redeeming Word Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This annual conference celebrates the leadership, faith, and service of women who uplift and strengthen their communities through ministry, mentorship, and civic engagement. It is a testament to the power of women's leadership, spiritual dedication, and the unifying influence of faith in building stronger families and neighborhoods. This year, we proudly recognize a distinguished group of women whose work has impacted countless lives in Broward County and beyond. These remarkable women exemplify dedication, compassion, and service, inspiring others through their commitment to faith, community, and leadership. I include in the Record the following 2026 Women Arise Conference Honorees: Colleen Edwards, Minister Malone Angella Fleming, Lovetta Thomas, Carolyn Powell, H.E. Amb, Dr. Sharon Wiles, Sushana Cole, Danielle Davis, Winsome Robertson Green, Elder Cholla Williamson, Overseer Lady Jacqueline D. Lloyd, Chief Apostle Prelate Dr. Gillian Thompson Biscette, Chief Apostle Janice L. Dillard, Apostle Dr. Sonia B. Lee, Mother Sonia Barnes, Minister Donna Massias, Delores Facey, Elaine Stewart, Norma Russell, Carleen Carla Richards, Pastor Dr. Althea Butler, Samantha Luke Sookraj, and Evangelist Dr. Michelle Richards. These honorees represent the heart of Broward County, exemplifying faith, leadership, and dedication. Their service and mentorship ensure that women's voices, leadership, and contributions remain celebrated and valued, inspiring current and future generations to embrace service, spiritual growth, and civic engagement. I ask my colleagues to join me in recognizing and celebrating these remarkable women for their leadership, contributions, and unwavering commitment to their communities. “Mrs. CHERFILUS-McCORMICK. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize Commissioner Hazelle P. Rogers in Honor of Women's History Month. I include in the Record the following proclamation: Whereas, Hazelle P. Rogers has dedicated her life to public service, leadership, and community advocacy, serving as a Democratic member of the Broward County Commission, former Mayor of Lauderdale Lakes, and as a member of the Florida House of Representatives; and Whereas, born in Kingston, Jamaica, and immigrating to New York City as a teenager, Commissioner Rogers has demonstrated remarkable perseverance, earning her education and advancing through roles of increasing responsibility while remaining committed to uplifting her community; and Whereas, Commissioner Rogers served on the Lauderdale Lakes City Commission beginning in 1996, championing initiatives that improved the quality of life for residents, and later represented the 94th and 95th Districts in the Florida House of Representatives, advocating for legislation to support education, property rights, and community development; and Whereas, since her election to the Broward County Commission on August 23, 2022, Commissioner Rogers has continued to exemplify leadership and dedication, bringing her wealth of experience to address the needs of Broward County residents and striving to ensure equitable and inclusive governance; and Whereas, Commissioner Rogers has been a mentor and advocate for women and young leaders, inspiring others through her example of integrity, resilience, and service, and fostering opportunities for the next generation of public servants; and Whereas, throughout her career, Commissioner Rogers has been a trailblazer for women in government, inspiring others through her unwavering commitment, integrity, and advocacy for public service and civic engagement; and therefore, be it Resolved, That we, Florida's 20th Congressional District, proudly recognize and honor Commissioner Hazelle P. I include in the Record the following proclamation: Whereas, Women's History Month is a time to honor women who have demonstrated excellence, leadership, faith, and service in their communities and beyond; and Whereas, Dr. Karri Bryant is an ordained clergywoman, author, entrepreneur, mentor, and public speaker, dedicated to empowering individuals--especially women--to grow in faith, purpose, and leadership: and Whereas, she has achieved significant academic success, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Morris Brown College, a Master of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a Doctorate in Ministry focused on leadership and Christian renewal; and Whereas, through initiatives such as Life Behind the Collar and The NUDGE Mentorship Initiative, Dr. Bryant provides mentorship, spiritual guidance, and leadership development to emerging leaders and women navigating faith and purpose; and Whereas, she serves faithfully alongside her husband, Dr. Jamal H. Bryant, as First Lady of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia--one of the Nation's most influential congregations advancing ministry initiatives that uplift families, strengthen communities, and inspire faith- based leadership; and Whereas, Dr. Bryant exemplifies grace, resilience, and authenticity, inspiring others through her faith, scholarship, entrepreneurship, and national recognition, including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award; and Therefore, be it resolved that we, Florida's 20th Congressional District, proudly recognize and honor Dr. Karri Bryant during Women's History Month for her outstanding leadership, dedication, and service, inspiring others through her example of integrity, faith, and achievement. ____________________”
